Per the October sales data released on December 14 at Comichron, IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog #33 rose to an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 units sold from the 7,800 to 9,800 units of issue #32 had sold the previous month.

Issue #33 is notably the first issue of Evan Stanley’s run as lead writer, which will be interesting to track in the coming months.
Ian Flynn’s Sonic: Bad Guys #1 also had a good start in October, outselling the main book at an estimated 12,500 to 15,000 units and beating issue #1 of Tangle and Whisper, IDW’s previous Sonic spin-off limited series, which sold 10,372 units back in July of 2019.

This may be a less-than-perfect comparison since Tangle and Whisper #0 was the actual first issue of the limited series, but since it had been released as a free issue the previous month, no “sales” data for that issue has been made available, and the sales comparison is still worth noting.
For a better look at how these sales compare to the Archie run and how Sonic the Hedgehog comics have sold over the years, see the updated graphs below.

Like the previous two months, all sales for October are estimates due to changes in how Diamond has been reporting the related information, and the above charts were made with reference to the midpoint of each estimate for the month. As always, thanks to Comichron for all sales numbers.
